The Queen’s Retreat
Indulge in the ultimate luxury experience at our Queen's Retreat, the perfect getaway for a Queen and her King. Decorated with delicate floral wallpaper, original ornate wooden door and window trim, featuring a Queen Anne bed and high ceilings, this room is both elegant and inviting. With your own personal knight guarding the door, you'll feel like royalty. The room opens onto the front porch, offering you private access to your luxurious lodgings, and is equipped with a full bathroom featuring a spacious soaking tub for a relaxing bath. Enjoy the natural light streaming in from multiple windows as you relax and unwind in this room designed for two. And, as with all our accommodations, breakfast is included with your stay.
Victorian Parlor Room
During the Victorian era, the Parlour or “der Salon” was the front room of every middle and high-class homes and for some, used exclusively to receive and entertain guest and for others, used as an environment for family intimacy. It was traditionally a display of wealth and status, so it was decorated with ornate patterned wallpapers, vibrant paint colors, displays of the worlds best artists, fine carpets and intricate carved wood around the doors and windows. It would have also contained fines couches and extra seating chairs to ensure plenty of space to sit guests and/or visiting family.
We took our Parlour Room and added a fine example of a Victorian Queen Anne bed frame for our guests to enjoy a luxurious night of sleep. Adding this furnishing touch and a few other key pieces, such as the room’s Knight that stands guard in the corner, the large bathroom, with soaking tub and fine art pieces, the Queen’s Retreat was born.
